At Iron Butterfly Wigs, all of our wigs are made from 100% Human Remy Hair—but what does that mean?
Remy Hair refers to hair in which the cuticles remain intact and aligned in the same direction. This protects the hair and prevents tangleing. Wigs made with cuticle-intact hair move, feel, and style just like natural hair, making them superior in both appearance and longevity.
Blonde Hair
Naturally blonde hair wigs are exceptionally rare and available in limited supply. Most blonde wigs on the market are created by lightening and processing darker hair to achieve the desired shade. This process, which is most often necessary to produce blonde tones across all hair types, weakens the hair shaft by breaking down its protein bonds and cuticle layer.
Since lightening always causes some degree of damage, blonde hair tends to be drier and more fragile than darker shades. To preserve its quality, blonde wigs should be handled with extra care, with minimal heat styling and washing to maintain their softness and longevity.

Premium Remy

Despite its delicate appearance, Premium Baby-Fine hair is of superior quality, offering durability with proper care. Reserve Remy
Our Reserve Remy hair offers a step up from our Premium Remy hair. This hair is sourced from bundled donor hair, often in limited quantities, and each wig is crafted from bundles collected from a single donor. While multiple bundles are required to create a full wig, using single-donor bundles ensures better blending and minimal processing, which enhances consistency and overall quality.
Although Reserve Remy hair begins as real, virgin, unprocessed hair, it is frequently lightened or color-treated to achieve the desired shade. Despite this, our Reserve Remy Collection upholds the highest standards of quality, ensuring exceptional results with every piece.
